Endometriosis

Endometriosis is the presence of endometrial surface epithelium and/or the presence of endometrial glands and stroma outside the lining of the uterine cavity. The cause is often unknown and is one of the most common benign gynaecological conditions (Edmonds et. al. , 2006).
