Occurs due to decreased ciculation of fluid volume such as blood and blood products. Categorized into two types with various causes; hemorrhagic or non hemorrhagic hypovolemic shock.
Hemorrhagic is due to loss of blood volume through bleeding.
Non hemorrhagic is often due to major burns; gastrointestinal losses: vomiting, fistulas; urinary losses: diabetes, diabetes insipidus; evaporative losses with fever, abdominal surgery
